The Wall Street Journal is looking for a newsroom programmer to research and develop multimedia projects for WSJ.com. The ideal candidate is a newshound with a love of visual storytelling backed by strong technical skills. Based in Hong Kong, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a top-notch team of reporters, editors, graphics editors and programmers throughout Asia and in New York. Your work – from long-term investigative pieces to real time news coverage – will be viewed by a daily audience of millions.
Experience:
The successful candidate must have strong attention to detail, a strict commitment to integrity and accuracy in their work, good organizational, research and communication skills, and experience in journalism. High level of proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, XML/HTML, CSS and Javascript required. Candidates with experience developing web applications using Javascript (particularly jQuery and Raphael, others a plus), PHP, MySQL, Django, Python and other frameworks strongly preferred.
